🛡️ Reward eligibility

Winning a reward position is only part of the rewards process in Footium. To receive real-money rewards, your club also needs to meet ownership and activity requirements. The system is designed so that rewards go to active, legitimate participants rather than inactive clubs or wallets that do not meet the rules.

Ownership matters

Cash rewards are linked to the club’s final league position, but the right to claim is tied to the wallet that owns the club at the reward snapshot. The snapshot takes place at a time between the end of the last match of the season and the season transition. Footium communicates the exact date and time in advance.

This means club sale timing is important. If User A owns Club X at the snapshot, User A can claim the rewards from that season even if the club is sold after the start of the next season. If User B sells Club Y to User C before the owner snapshot, even if the sale happens after the final match, User C can claim that season’s reward if the club qualifies.

Rewards are tied to a wallet, not permanently to the club. When you claim at the start of the following season, the reward claim section shows rewards won by clubs owned by that wallet at the snapshot date.

Activity is required

Club owners are not automatically eligible just because they own a club. Footium uses an active and inactive system. A club must have completed at least one recognised activity during the current season to be considered active.

The eligible activity actions are:

  • Set a line-up in the tactics page
  • Sign an academy player
  • Register a player
  • Make a change during a live match
  • Train a player

If a club wins a reward position but is deemed inactive, that reward is not claimable by the club owner. Instead, it is assigned to unassigned rewards for the next season. Footium takes 50% of that reward value as revenue, and the other 50% is distributed across the Footium football pyramid.

Practical ways to stay eligible

The easiest way to stay eligible is to actively manage your club as part of your normal routine. Setting your line-up before the season or during the season is enough to count as an activity. Training a player, registering a player, signing an academy player or making a live match change also count.

Do not leave eligibility until the final day if you can avoid it. Make your first eligible action early in the season, then continue managing normally. This also protects your on-pitch performance, FC earnings and squad development.

Sanctions and restricted wallets

Footium does not include funds from addresses flagged as having a sanctions designation by Chainalysis, such as addresses linked to major DeFi hacks. Clubs in sanctioned wallets are also unable to claim rewards. This is separate from normal activity eligibility and is part of maintaining a legitimate reward system.

Claiming window

Rewards become claimable at the start of the following season. You have until the end of that next season to claim them. If you do not claim within that period, the reward becomes unclaimed and is reallocated. As with inactive rewards, 50% goes to Footium revenue and 50% goes into unassigned rewards for distribution in a future season.

Eligibility checklist

Before the season ends, confirm:

  • Your club has completed at least one eligible activity
  • You understand who will own the club at the snapshot
  • Your wallet is connected correctly when claiming opens
  • You claim before the end of the following season

Reward eligibility is mostly common sense: own the club at the snapshot, manage it actively, and claim on time.
